The ribbon bar for the Results Tab is broken into 10 areas.
The first area deals with the report that is associated with this Query. If there is one, then the Print Report will not be grayed out. Here you can print the grid as it is (not really formatted for a report), print the defined report, design a new (or edit) report, and clear any existing report associated with this Query.
The second area deals with dashboards. Like the report above, if there is a dashboard associated with the Query, then the Show Dashboard link is active, otherwise it is disabled. Here you can launch the dashboard, or design a new or edit and existing dashboard, as well as clear/delete the existing dashboard.
The third area allows you to easily Expand or Collapse any groups in the results grid. You can also do this from the grid popup menu.
The fourth area allows you to show the Grid Chart. This is a chart/graph section that appears on the right side of the Result Grid. It allows the user to select fields that will be used to create a graph/chart from the selected records in the result grid.
The fifth area has the spreadsheet button that allows the user to load all the data in the Result Grid into the Spreadsheet feature of InSights Into Data. This will launch a spreadsheet that is fully compatible with Excel.
The six area allows the user to copy the data from the Results Grid into the Pivot Grid, where the user can do some analysis and look at their data in different ways, using the drag and drop features of the pivot grid. Note that the check box "Add Rec Counter" allows the user to add a new column with a value of 1 for each record in the pivot grid. This allows for some quick and easy counting/summing of other columns in the pivot grid.
The seventh area provides the export capabilities of the Results Grid. Here you can see the exports (Export Data - Export Wizard to a number of different formats, Export Snapshot - export the data in the current grid - out to an encrypted file. Export To Viewer - this button will export the contents of the grid and all the Query meta data to an encrypted file. This will allow another user to view the results grid and see the dashboards, reports, etc. The final export button (Export Blob), allows the user to export Blob data (from BLOB fields in a database that might contain large amounts of text, images, PDFs, etc).
The eighth area allows you to save and load the layout of the Results grid. By saving the layout of the grid - you can easily restore it the next time your run the Query. Very handy if you send the Query to another organization.
The ninth area allows the user to show the In Memory tables, and the SQL Scratch Pad and the Code Scripting window.
The tenth section allows you to add a Record Number field to the grid. This feature adds a new integer field and puts a value of 1 in each row. It is useful for dashboards, charting, etc. - and acts like a simple record counter. The other button in this section allows you to refresh the grids from the underlying datatables. This can be useful if you have made any changes to the datatables, but they have not been refreshed.
